Why isn't the income prorated by 50% for purposes of the Ontario home ownership savings plan tax credit (OHOSP)?

This only occurs when the spouse's return is prepared by another firm and you have entered the spouse's data in the keyword RelatedParty. Therefore, if you have created a separate file for the spouse in the database, you should not be affected by this problem.

If this problem concerns you, you may work around it by using the keyword Override in order to enter an amount representing half of the income on line 3 of form ON 479.
